Item Description

Everybody knows Dioptase, but there are few localities for really world-class specimens. This piece is from a new find in January of 2019, these are certainly a different kind of Dioptase from the Mpita Mine. It's a bit different from what we've seen in the past as it features beautiful clusters of Dioptase covering the underlying matrix. The largest individual crystal - as best I can measure it - comes in at 6 mm long The color of the crystals is that classic emerald green hue, which is amplified by the high luster and sharp faces. Most of crystals are in great shape, a few are contacted, but it's good overall. When you consider the high prices being paid for Tsumeb Dioptase specimens across the board these days, here is a wonderful opportunity to pick up a "Tsumeb"-esque quality piece for a fraction of the price.
