Dioptase (huge 1 inch crystal)

Dioptase from Tsumeb is of course the CLASSIC AND MOST IMPORTANT locality for the species, and large crystals like this came out in the heyday of the finds in the mid 1980s (Pohl # 64049 confirms this was contemporary, or just after, with the finds). However, most crystals are in the 5-15 mm range in size. This ridiculously large crystal in the center is fully 2.5 cm tall, 1.8 cm wide, and nearly the same in depth. It has massive presence and is certainly one of the largest known full and complete crystals of the species in terms of overall mass. The cluster is complete all around the front display, with just some contacting and minor wear on the back or periphery. The major crystal is pristine. It is impossible to easily value such a beast of a dioptase!
