Item Description

Beautiful, electric emerald green Dioptase crystals are associated on a layer of electric light blue colored Chrysocolla from the classic locality at Morenci. This area has produced some of the most attractive secondary Copper mineral species combinations from any locality in the world. Obviously, Bisbee is the premier Arizona locality for minerals like Azurite and Malachite association specimens, but Morenci produced some really eye-catching specimens in more recent years. This attractive display specimen features small trigonal crystals of Dioptase covering most of the specimen, and for the most part, the piece is in great shape. Dioptase on matrix from Morenci are not terribly common, and certainly are worth picking up in this market.
