Item Description

Without questions, there are very few specimens of Dioptase from Morenci on the market these days. I have not had many of them over the years, and this piece is certainly one of the largest and richest pieces of the material that I have had to offer. This "hand sized" cabinet display specimen is just filled with hundreds of electric rich emerald green, sparkling, thin, prismatic crystals of Dioptase which are sprinkled on a layer of pale blue-green Chrysocolla and forest-green Malachite on host rock matrix. When you think of all the classic secondary ore minerals in the world, Dioptase is certainly one of the first that comes to mind, but you rarely seen them from Arizona. This piece is a true Arizona classic, along with being a very colorful, showy piece of this highly sought after material from south-eastern Arizona (near the New Mexico border). Priced in the inventory at $4,000.
