Item Description
A classic specimen of Dioptase from the type locality, the Altyn-Tyube Dioptase Deposit in Kazakhstan. This small cabinet sized specimen features a fairly rich coverage of sharp, lustrous, strong emerald green colored trigonal crystals on Calcite. The largest Dioptase measures about 7 mm long. Very good color, quality and even some gemminess can be seen. There are some contacted areas, so the piece is not completely damage-free, but this is classic material from the first known locality for the species.
