Dioptase and Malachite on Calcite ex Hefendehl

Dozens of sparkly, emerald green Dioptase crystals grace a whitish matrix of scintillating Calcite crystals and sprinkled with a little Malachite, Cerussite and Duftite for added accent and interest! The gemmy Dioptase crystals range in size from 1 to 4 mm in length and are distributed on the white, 2 mm Calcite crystals with just the right amount of isolation between the Dioptase crystals and crystal clusters for great contrast. A few, 3 mm, translucent Cerussite crystals are intergrown with the Calcite. Several dozen 2 to 3 mm spherules of light green Malachite are scattered on one side of the piece and there are several tiny clusters of bright green Duftite to add to the aesthetics. Ex Hefendehl collection: Kurt Hefendehl (1938-2020) was a well-known collector in the mineral world all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached a number of over 6000 pieces.
