Dioptase

Good Dioptase specimens are always in demand, and the pieces from the Kaokoveld Plateau are some of the best modern-day Dioptase specimens out there. This beautiful and rather large (for the species) specimen features a single sharp, lustrous, fine emerald green, translucent trigonal crystal. The piece is nearly 100% perfect, but it's incomplete on the bottom. It glows with color when backlit, and there are not a lot of Dioptase crystals that measure 3.0 cm, so this is good sized for the species. A very worthwhile full sized thumbnail specimen from this contemporary material from Namibia.
