An unusual, remarkably aesthetic, miniature from the Kaokoveld Plateau, one of the world's best localities for Dioptase. Dramatic certainly describes the manner in which this 2.7 cm Dioptase is perched atop the matrix, and the numerous, gemmy sidecars add an almost Sci-Fi look to the crystal. The luster and color are very good, and the specimen well-represents this great locality. This is especially so since Kaokoveld Dioptases have a distinctly different color and look compared to those from Tsumeb or Reneville. Please note that I have this listed as a large miniature, but corner to corner it can be considered a small-cabinet specimen - or trimmed to a thumbnail on a perch! Either way it is displayed, it is a fine specimen and we value it highly for its unique aesthetics..
