Dioptase

Item Description

At 3.5 cm, this dioptase features a central, huge crystal that is so dramatic to the eye! This is nearly the maximal size of a Tsumeb dioptase. It has the classic color and luster, as you see. It is a little rough on the surface features, or would be worth over 10k: it simply has a few contacts where it grew against other crystals, now missing or picked out. These two points of contact have ingrowth into the big crystal, but again that is simply a growth feature, not damage. Still, a large crystal, and obvious and beautiful to the eye. The piece is on an unusual thin shard of dioptase, that grew as a coating on something else and popped off intact, so the bottom is, strangely, bubbly but complete.
