Item Description

A classic Diopside specimen from the well known locality at San Vito. This specimen features a few bright yellow-green color, sharp, gemmy, prismatic to blocky crystals of Diopside which are sitting atop micro crystallized pink-peach color, gemmy, lustrous Vesuvianite crystals with blackish Muscovite. The largest Diopside crystal measures 4 mm. One of the few pieces of this classic and hard to find material that I have handled. From the Rich Kosnar collection who obtained the piece from his very close friend and former editor of Rivista Mineralogica Italiana, Erberto Tealdi whose label accompanies the specimen.
