Item Description
A nice toenail sized "Alpine Type" specimen featuring sharp, lustrous, translucent, greenish-blue Diopside crystals associated with gemmy greenish-golden colored Epidote prisms. This piece was mined circa 2005 and comes to us from the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite). These particular specimens are seldom seen on the market today, along with a lot of the minerals from the "cleft" localities in Pakistan. The largest Diopside crystal measures 1.6 cm long, and the largest Epidote is 2.4 cm long. It's not 100% damage free, but still in good shape, and this particular association is uncommon in my experience.
