Diopside with Calcite (ex Dr. Miguel Romero Collection)

Item Description

This piece came with a dealer label that states is from De Kalb, New York, but I feel that the color and opacity of the Diopside crystals are too dark, so the piece could be from Amity. With that said, we're simply labeling it from New York to err on the side of caution. A handful of sharp, blocky, prismatic, deep green colored partial crystals of Diopside are associated with light pinkish-yellow Calcite on massive Diopside matrix. It's more of a reference specimen than anything as the crystals are not fully terminated, but do show some sharp prism faces. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico.
