Diopside w/ chrome Grossular xls (Trimingham Coll.)

Item Description

An impressive large combination specimen from this well-known locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1966. The parallel-growth cluster of lustrous, tan diopside blades is peppered with clusters of tiny grossular garnets. These crystals, despite their size, are still some of the darkest, richest green Chrome-bearing Grossular crystals I've seen from any locality. There are dozens of very small, bright, lustrous, dodecahedral neon-green Chrome Grossulars on the diopside. A very attractive large combination piece from this classic, and now defunct world locality. Value??
