Item Description

Diopside is well known from different worldwide environments, but crystals from this marble quarry in Jefferson County, Montana are certainly not common. This piece is a beautiful, group of very pale green to deep forest green prismatic crystals from the famous Boulder Batholith. The piece is crystallized on the display side with well-defined faces, and actually will pass a tiny amount of light when backlit. A great specimen for a collector of unusual locality minerals, or hard to find US specimens.
