Item Description
Diopside is not found in many places in the world in fine enough crystals to facet stones. A small area in Afghanistan has produced some attractive crystals and gemstones, but in small supply. The specimen features a sharp, well-formed, prismatic, dark greenish-black color 1.3 cm crystal on Calcite matrix. The cut stone in this set has a rich green hue with a typical "Emerald" cut and very slight inclusions. Good quality on both sides, although the crystal is not transparent.
