Item Description
A wonderful "Alpine Type" specimen consisting of sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy, greenish-blue prismatic Diopside in a "Faden" growth. "Faden" is the German word for string, and you can see that these crystals have formed around "string" of "Byssolite" to form the "Faden". Formerly in the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite), and this specimen came to him about 20 years ago. I personally have not seen many of them on the market in quite some time. A good specimen from one of the premier "cleft" localities in Pakistan. The piece is in great shape overall. A showy and three-dimensional piece of this classic and rarely seen material from Pakistan.
