Item Description
A wonderful "Alpine Type" specimen consisting of sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy, greenish-blue prismatic Diopside crystals on massive Diopside matrix. Formerly in the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite), and this specimen came to him about 15 years ago. I personally have not seen many of them on the market in quite some time. A good overall specimen from one of the premier "cleft" localities in Pakistan. The largest Diopside crystal measures 8 mm long, and the piece is in good shape overall, despite a few contacted crystals. A showy and three-dimensional piece of this classic and rarely seen material from Pakistan.
