Diopside (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

These specimens came out about 8 years ago, and I have only seen two different finds of this material in that span of time. The piece features a 1.4 cm, rather gemmy, slightly rounded, doubly-terminated rich green (possible Chromium-bearing), translucent prism of Diopside on beautifully contrasting white marble matrix. Please note that the matrix has saw marks on the back side, but still display beautifully without showing any of the marks. A nice smaller specimen of this seldom seen material.
