Diopside (Chromian Diopside) (old classic) (ex Richard Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A classic old time specimen of fine rich green colored chromium-bearing Diopside from the famous locality at Outokumpu, Finland. There are some well-formed, distinct crystal faces that can be seen on the terminations of both of the Diopside crystals, but they have some separation marks further down the prisms where they were probably separated from the pocket or other Diopside crystals. A great historic specimen from the locality that produced some of the fines crystals of Uvarovite in the world. Ex Richard A. Kosnar collection.
