Item Description
Diopside is one of those gems that you don't see from many world localities, but it's also not really considered a rare gem. Perhaps some of the most well-known examples are the chromium-bearing stones from Siberia, but there are other places in the world where attractive gem quality Diopside has been found. This stone was cut back in the 1970s, and came from a find at the Dumka Gem Mine in India. It has a "Shallow Octagonal" cut with dark murky green hue. There are a couple visible flaws, but it's one of the largest examples I've seen from the locality, so the flaws are forgiveable in my mind.
