The world's finest crystallized Digenite specimens have undoubtedly come from the famous mines at Butte and this is an outstanding example. This fantastic, club-shaped crystal has complex, terraced faces and is a gorgeous jet-black color. Digenite is a rare copper sulfide, and this 1.8 cm crystal sits on a matrix of crystallized chalcocite. Butte was known for these 60 years ago, but crystals of this caliber and size are now hard to come by. It has a wonderful form, and the classic dull matte luster which distinguishes it from Chalcocite from this locality. Valued $750
