Item Description

The world's finest crystallized digenite specimens have undoubtably come from the famous mines at Butte and this is an excellent example. A dominating, large 2.0 cm crystal is flanked by smaller digenites, a field of quartz crystals and a few pyrites. The digenites are moderate to highly lustrous, striated and have rounded termination and edges, a frequent occurrence at Butte. Periphery wear is noted, but this remains a classic and highly representative example of the species from this noted locale. Ex Robert Whitmore Butte Collection.
