In this set, the gem is certainly the better of the two halves. It's a nearly 9 carat nearly EYE CLEAN "Custom Elongated Brilliant Scissors" cut gem with that glowing greenish-straw color for which Turkish Diaspores are known. It's hard to find good gem Diaspores in this size with this clarity, especially today becuase the entire locality has been purchased as a large commercial operation, so the supply is under control by a single operator now. The crystal is this set is a partial crystal section without a termination, but it does have good striated prism faces and wonderful internal gemminess. The set is valued at $6500 based upon the size and quality of the stone.
