The most famous gem quality Diaspore is found in Selçuk District in Turkey. There are truly only a few places in the world, where fine gem Diaspore is found, but the Turkish material is certainly at the top of the mountain. Sometimes you'll see this material marketed under the trade name "Zultanite" or "Csarite", but it's all Diaspore. This stone is a lovely soft greenish-yellow colored, "Trillion" cut gem with only very slight inclusions. It's hard to find good gem Diaspores today becuase the entire locality has been purchased as a large commercial operation, so the supply is under control by a single operator now.
