Carbonado is a massive, opaque, gray, brown, or black variety of diamond used as an abrasive and in rock drill bits. Specimens are rarely available from any locality and from Brazil since they are mined industrially and turned into powder! The value is in industrial purposes. This is a nubby, grayish-brown euhedral crystal. 14.19 carats mass. Ex Matioli Collection.
