Item Description
An extremely sharp and gemmy, 7 mm, 0.95 carat colorless diamond octahedron from the famous Mir Pipe. This fine and uncommon crystal is strikingly and beautifully enhanced by the stepped-growth faces. The octo exhibits the extreme adamantine luster that the species is known for. From a find in the 1980's, specimens like this are rare now. The pipe was discovered in 1955, closed in 2011 and was the first and one of the largest diamond pipes of the USSR. From a small select diamond collection. MUCH better in person, as it was difficult to photograph.
