Item Description
A beautiful very gemmy, colorless twinned crystal ("macle") of Diamond from an undisclosed locality in South Africa. The flattened octahedral form is a classic shape for these elusive and rare twins. The habit of twinning is essentially a "Spinel"-twin, and fairly hard to find in Diamond. The piece is exceptionally clean throughout, with only one tiny inlcusion I can see under magnification. The colorless purity and beautiful form makes the piece a highly desirable example of a native element (carbon) that is also one of, if not the most well-known gemstone in the world. The back of the piece is contacted, so it's not a complete crystal, but it looks great from the front. Weight is 0.80 carats
