Item Description

A VERY rich old specimen! Herrengrundite is an old-time synonym for devilline, an uncommon hydrated Ca-Cu-sulfate. Herrengrundite was named in 1879, but was later determined to be devilline (named in 1872 from Cornwall) and was named for this ancient mining district. A few radial sprays, to 2 mm, of teal-blue devilline blades on scattered on the sandstone pebble matrix richly covered with botryoidal malachite. Old pieces such as this date to the 1800's, and are hard to come by today.
