Item Description

Specimens from the much less well-known Uitsab Mine of Namibia are almost never on the market. The open pit mine was an active vanadium ore producer from only 1920-1940. This is an outstanding, complete all-around and pristine, mounded cluster of lustrous, tapering, blocky, blackish, greenish to brownish vanadinite crystals. The few specimens extent are mostly found in museum collections. Comes with a faded Lazard Cahn label, that dates from about 1927 to 1940. Hefty for its size at 1.8 pounds or over 800 grams. these ar eHUGE, FAT CRYSTALS of the species, like no others. Valued $1250-1500 for quality and rarity.
