Item Description

The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the worlds finest descloizite specimens and this is an excellent and very rich specimen. This mounded, complete all-around, piece consists of dense, jackstraw, aggregate of lustrous brick-red to brown to matte-gray decloizite spearpoints. The largest spearpoint is 2.5 cm. The clusters look like floral arrangements. There are minimal broken crystals for such rich coverage. This fine piece is a highly representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978. Hefty for its size at 491 grams or over a pound. Rich lead, zince, vanadium ore here! Showy material from the Rob Smith Collection.
