Descloizite (Rob Smith Coll.)

Item Description

The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the worlds finest descloizite specimens and this is an excellent example. This piece consists of arborescent, parallel-growth clusters of lustrous, olive-green, olive-brown and a few reddish-brown decloizite spearpoints and prisms. The clusters look like floral arrangements and the specimen has only a few broken crystals and a bit of periphery wear. This fine piece is a highly representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978. Showy material from the Rob Smith Collection.
