Item Description
A VERY hard to find piece of crystallized Descloizite from a vanadium prospect right at Tsumeb! This piece honestly resembles Descloizites from Berg Aukus in my mind, and to find one truly labeled as coming from Friesenberg is extremely rare. Sharp, well-formed, semi-vitreous, lustrous, chocolate brown crystals of Descloizite in almost "organic" / arborescent growths are associated with Calcite. Good shape all around, and if you collect Namibian minerals or secondary ore minerals, don't miss out on this HARD TO FIND locality specimen! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#966). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
