Item Description
A very rare specimen of the bright reddish-orange colored Descloizite from the Commercial Cramer Mine (Commercial Mine) in New Mexico. I don't think we've ever had a piece of this material to offer in any format. Brilliant, sparkling micro crystals of Descloizite with a rarely seen bright reddish-orange color sit in a thin Quartz layer on matrix. The piece looks beautiful under magnification. This locality is completely defunct (it closed in 1942), and I saw a report on mindat that said the area was being converted into a "cabin resort". Don't miss out on this HARD TO FIND specimen with exceptional color from this obscure locality in New Mexico. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6991). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
