Item Description

A gorgeous, three-dimensional showy display specimen of the hard to find pseudomorphs of Descloizite replacing arsenic-bearing Vanadinite from the lesser-known Aurora Mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. The piece is loaded with attractive hexagonal "hoppered" prismatic crystals of what used to be Vanadinite, but have since been pseudomorphed into sparkling, golden-brown colored Descloizite. The largest individual crystal measures 6 mm long. The piece sits on its own without the aid of a base or clay. No major damage, just some superficial roughness in a few spots. Very good quality all around. These are rare and highly prized by Mexican mineral collectors along with pseudomorph collectors. Valued at $1,500 in the inventory. From the prestigious pseudomorph collection of Dr. Wouter van Tichelen of Belgium.
