Descloizite ps. after Wulfenite (RARE) Bob Reynolds Coll.

Item Description

A RARE and rich large pseudomorph from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos. Two generations of Descloizite have completely pseudomorphed a striking dense jackstraw cluster of tabular Wulfenite crystals on the sculptural triangular matrix. The pseudos reach 1.8 cm. The few broken pseudos reveal the glassy green first generation interiors below the matte lustre second generation outer crusts. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Both labels with the piece are incorrect that ascribed it to duftite or to another locality but this was pre-MINDAT which allows us to check our assumption that it was something weirder and fix the old labels. This rich and impressive large old-time pseudomorph rarity dates to the 1960s to 1980s.
