Item Description

The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia, closed since 1978, has easily produced the world's finest examples of descloizite, a lead-zinc vanadate. Two rosettes of splendent, partially translucent, grayish-brown flattened spearpoint blades dramatically and richly cover three sides of the thin quartz-rich matrix. Bright light reveals the brown color of the blades. This very fine, sculptural and aesthetic piece is nearly pristine, with only modest periphery wear. A classic, excellent and very rich example of the species from the Charles Lawrence Collection.
