Berg Aukus is world-renowned for its extraordinary Descloizite specimens. These pieces have set the standard of excellence for this zinc analogue of Mottramite. It is because of Berg Aukus that we know how good Descloizite crystals can actually get. This piece is filled with many blocky, sharp, lustrous, dark chocolate brown color, layered crystals groups measuring up to 5 mm. The piece is in great condition all over, and this particular style/habit of Descloizite is not commonly seen from Berg Aukus. Valued at $700 in the inventory. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
