Item Description

It goes without saying that the finest pieces of Descloizite in the world were found at Berg Aukus. These pieces go back 50+ years and still remain as the standard of excellence for this zinc analogue of Mottramite. This piece features classic "spear"-shaped, sharp, lustrous, rich silvery brown color, layered crystal groups in a semi-stalactitic / arborescent formation. There is some very slight damage on a few of the crystals, but it is still a notable specimen for its crystal quality and overall aesthetics. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4232). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
