The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the worlds finest descloizite specimens and this is a showy and excellent example. This is a very vuggy, sculptural crust of solid intergrown descloizite crystals. The rust-red descloizite spearpoints have striking, arborescent forms that resemble fern fronds or reptile scales, depending on your view. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a couple of gently bruised crystals. It looks like a floater. Every rotation gives a totally different perspective! This fine piece is a super representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978.
