Hundreds of very sharp, gemmy, bright green, andradite variety demantoid garnet dodecahedrons are richly scattered on both sides of the LARGE CABINET matrix on this impressive large specimen from the famous Malenco Valley of Italy. This locality has produced some of the most easily recognizable demantoids extant. The crystals, to 5 mm, are all very well-formed, with smooth faces and super reflective luster. Many of the demantoids from this locality are dull and distorted, but these crystals are very pleasing to the eye.
