Item Description

Delafossite is an uncommon Cu-Fe oxide and is well-known from the famous Cole Shaft at Bisbee. Scintillating, bubbly black delafossite botryoids richly crown the matrix wedge and are nicely accented with clusters of tiny sharp copper crystals. The matrix is mostly granular cuprite and there appears to be a 1 mm patch of tiny blood-red cuprite variety chalcotrichite needles. Excellent combination material from the Harold Urich Collection and purchased in Bisbee in 1997.
