Item Description

At first glance, I thought I was looking at a specimen from Dal'negorsk, Russia, but as it turns out the famous Charcas locality produced some very similar specimens even though the two localities are about 10,000 km apart. This piece hosts some fine quality, sharp, very well formed, rather lustrous blocky monoclinic crystals of soft yellow-blue-green crystals of Datolite associated with some VERY sharp and lustrous metallic black "Spinel-Law" twinned crystals of Sphalerite along with sharp and slightly translucent prisms of Danburite and topped off with a few metallic golden Chalcopyrites. Great quality all around, especially on the display side. From the famous collection of Dr. Eugene Sensel. Valued at $1500 for quality, aesthetics, associations and the fact that's it's a really attractive classic display piece.
