Item Description
This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years. This particular specimen is a good display piece consisting of good sized, blocky, somewhat gemmy, light green, crystals of Datolite with pearly off-white Heulandite on basalt. The largest Datolite crystal measures 1.6 cm across, which is good sized for the locality. The largest Heulandite group measures 1.5 cm. This is a good Datolite for New Jersey. Recently collected in the Park, and certainly among the last specimens that will come out of the quarry, since it's very close to the end.
