Datolite with Danburite (Consie Prince Coll.)

Glassy and lustrous, light pastel-green datolite crystals to 3.5 cm cover the matrix of massive datolite on this excellent CABINET specimen from Charcas, Mexico. The backside of this dramatic, two-sided piece is totally covered with pearlescent danburite blades in jackstraw fashion. The shimmering glassiness of the datolite crystals is impressive. Overall, the piece is in excellent condtion, with only very modest periphery wear. A couple of natural fractures are visible, but the piece is very sturdy. Ex Consie Prince Collection.
