Item Description
Chalcopyrite is a RARE species from the famous polymetallic skarn deposits at Charcas, famed for world-class danburite, pokerchip style calcites, nifontovite and datolite crystals. Sharp coated matte to lustrous chalcopyrite sphenoids, to 1.5 cm, are aesthetically clustered or isolated atop the mounded matrix covered with classic, very glassy, light mint-green datolite crystals. The underlying matrix is sphalerite. The bruised backs of the chalcos reveals the bright golden iridescence of the sphenoids. A RARE, showy and excellent combination from Charcas.
