Datolite (rough and cut set)

Item Description

Datolite is not often seen in gem quality crystals from any locality and rough and cut sets are fairly difficult to assemble. The crystallized specimen in this set features a mix of soft golden Datolite crystals with sharp lustrous faces along with light green "spheres" of Prehnite on a unique "cast" after a preexisting crystal of Anhydrite. The piece is from the Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. The paired gemstone is from Dal'negorsk, Russia, and is a very attractive colorless "Emerald" cut stone with only very very slight inclusions. A good quality affordable set for any rough and cut collector.
