Item Description
A classic old Datolite from St Andreasberg featuring a vug filled with sharp, lustrous, pale green colored crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm sitting in massive Datolite on host rock matrix. A good example of this incredibly hard to find material. Look around, and you'll see there are very few examples of Datolite from this famous old locality out there. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3976) with a beautiful old hand-written label from Fr. (Franz?) Ritter in Hildesheim, Saxony. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
