Item Description

A rich, thick, unpolished slab of highly desirable datolite included with microcrystalline copper from Copper Country. The datolite without inclusions and the outer rind with malachite are fine accents and contrasts. Polished, this would look striking, with fine porcelaneous texture and red color. This thick piece could be sawed in half to make two beautiful polished slices. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2056 and acquired in late 1961 or 1962. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
