Item Description
Datolites from Dal'negorsk are among some of the finest quality Datolites in the world, not to mention large and colorful. This piece came out of Dal'negorsk in 1999. It features multiple good sized, sharp, lustrous, translucent, green, well-formed crystals of Datolite intergrown to create a very attractive display specimen. The largest crystal measures 2.2 cm at its longest dimension. No damage that I can see, save the periphery where it detached from the pocket. You don't see many of these Datolites on the market these days, as the area is producing less and less non-sulfide specimens. From the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite) whose catalogue number 401.1 is painted on the bottom of the piece. Valued at $1200.
