Datolite

Item Description

A classic Dalnegorsk Datolite specimen featuring an aesthetic group of sharp, well-formed, blocky, soft yellow-green to soft blue-green colored, lustrous crystals of Datolite measuring up to 1.8 cm. Some of the terminations of the Datolites are partially "frosted" with what appears to be a sub-surface pocket clay, and the effect is fantastic. Good condition overall, as the visible crystals are nearly all terminated but, there is a scar on the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces have all but disappeared from the mineral market, so if you missed out on them in 1990s when they were more readily available, don't miss out on picking this one up for a great price.
